Experience Endless Hot Water with Our Solar Water Heating Systems
Solterra Solar is a leading supplier of high-quality solar geysers sourced from the Kwiksol range of Electrolux/Kwikot.
Our solar geysers are designed to meet the highest standards in solar water heating technology. Kwikot, with over a century of experience in the geyser business, ensures that our tanks are reliable and long-lasting.
At Solterra Solar, we’re dedicated to providing the best solar water heating solutions that meet our customers’ specific needs.
How does solar heating work?
We offer two types of solar geysers: DIRECT and INDIRECT.
The direct system is ideal for frost-free locations with good water quality, while the indirect system is suitable for areas with frost and poor water quality.
Our solar geysers come with one or two solar flat plate collectors, depending on the size of the solar tank.

Hot water is circulated through the solar collector panels in the direct system. Solar energy is transferred to the hot water in the panels. The hot water is then stored in the solar geyser's storage tank for later use. Kwiksol direct (Frost free) solar geyser is a specific product that uses the direct system. A brochure with more information on this product can be downloaded here.
A direct thermosyphon close-coupled system uses natural circulation to heat water between a solar collector and a storage tank, without a pump. It's easy to install and maintain, with low costs and is best for areas with high solar radiation and low to moderate water demand.
In the indirect system, the water remains in the solar geyser and is heated through a heat exchanger around the inner vessel. A mixture of Propylene glycol and potable water is circulated through the solar collector panels, transferring solar energy into the heat exchanger and heating the water in the storage tank of the solar geyser. For more information on our Kwiksol indirect (Frost areas) solar geyser, download our brochure here.
The installation diagram for an indirect solar water heating system includes a solar collector panel, heat transfer fluid, heat exchanger, storage tank, and piping with valves. The fluid circulates through the collector, then passes through the heat exchanger to heat the water in the storage tank. The closed-loop system provides hot water for the household.
